Who being upon Oath says that the Person
now present who calls himself Thomas Turnell< no role >
hath been indebted to this Informant for Shoes
and Bools to the Amount of Six Pounds eighteen
Shillings and eleven pence which Sum the
said Thomas Purnell< no role >
hath owed this Informant
for the Space of eighteen Months last past That
about a Month ago the said Thomas Purnell< no role >
calld upon this Informant and desired him to
enclose his said Bill to him at now Lloyds
Coffee house
which this Informant did That on
Tuesday Evening last the said Thomas Purnell< no role >
call'd at this Informant Shop and produced purporting
him the Bill of Exchange of Benjamin Adams< no role >
on Mossrs. Smith Wright and Gray No.21
Lombard
Street
London for the Payment of Nine Pounds
Fifteen Shillings and four Pence to Captain
Thomas Purnell< no role >
or his order on demand and
dated London March 6th. 1787. Saying that
of their Informant would give him the said
Purnell the difference of the said Bill of
Exchange he would pay him his Bill
meaning his Bill of Six Pounds eighteen
