Taken the 20th. day of
April 1786

Who upon their Oaths severally say and first the said Mary
Hickman< no role >
for herself Saith That she is the Wife
of John
Hickman< no role >
and lives in Duke Street
Bloomsbury
That about the
hour of half past 10. o Clock last Night She was Alarmed
and Informed That a Thief was in the House and upon
going up Stairs she met Mary parker< no role >
who was formerly
her Servant
and who had been Convicted for Robbing her
House upon the Two pair of Stairs coming down very debberately
upon which she stoped her and had her secured That the them
went up Stairs and the first thing she saw was a great Number
of Shirts which were wet lying on the Garret Stairs and upon
going to the Garret she found the door had been broken open
and a large Quantity Linnen and Wearing Apparell which were
hanging an linds in the Garret to dry packed up with intention to
be taken away
And this Informant William Headland< no role >
for
himself saith That he is lodger at Mr. Hickman's House
and that about the time above mentioned a little boy who also
lodges in the said House said That somebody was gone up Stairs
and this Informant went up when he saw a great deal of
Wet Linnen lying on the Garret Stairs That he then went
into the Garret where he saw a large quantity of Linnen and
Apparell lying on the Garret Floor and in the Garret he saw
the above named Mary Parker< no role >
who had her Shoes off when he
Assisted in Securing her
