Taken the 13th. day of
February 1786
Who upon their Oaths severally says and first the said
Peter Hardy< no role >
for himself saith That he is Shopman
or
Servant
to Mr. Thomas Hattersley< no role >
in High Holborn
Haberdasher
That about the hour of One. o Clock this day
Two Women who say their Names are Sarah Lyon< no role >
and
Ann Gibson< no role >
came into his Masters Shop and Cheapened
some Lace and bought some thread Tape and Ribbon and
then went out of the Shop That this Informant had
some Suspicion They had Taken some Lace and therefore
he went after them and brought them back into the Shop
and sent for a peace Officer in order to Search Them
who found upon the said Sarah Lyon< no role >
The Lace now
produced which is the property of the said Thomas Hattersley< no role >
and is of the Value of Twenty Shillings and upwards
And this Informant Edward Tredway< no role >
for
himself Saith That about the hour of one o Clock this day
he was sent for to the House of Mr Hattersley as aforesaid
to take Two Women into Custody That he went and upon
Searching the said Sarah Lyon< no role >
he found in her right hand
pocket hole the Lace now produced which was immediately
Claimed by Mr. Hardy to be the property of the said Thomas
Hattersley< no role >
and therefore this Informant Secured Them
and Took them before a Justice
