Who being upon Oath say and first the said Thomas
Smart< no role >
saith that about five o Clock last Night he left the ten
pewter pots now produced at the Step of Mr Footheads Door in
James Street
Covent Garden
tied together with the Strap now produced
whilst he went up into a two pair of Stairs Room belonging to a
Mr Smith a Lodger in said Mr Footheads house to collect Pots
that he returned down Stairs to the place where he had left said
Pots in about five Minutes, when he found that they were Stolen
away - And the said Mary Brophey< no role >
says that last Night about
five o Clock she saw a person now present who calls herself
Jane Brooks< no role >
going thro Log Alley
with the said Strap and Pots
in her hands - that suspecting (from the appearance of the said
Jane Brooks< no role >
) that she had Stolen the same, she stopped her
and caused her to be secured and said Pots taken from her
