taken before me this 11th. day of January 1785
Who being upon Oath say and first the said Robert
Louth says that about half part 10 oClock in the Night of the
14th.. day ofNovemDecember last as he was coming out of
the Passage from Drury Lane Theatre
into Bridges Street
Covent
Garden
he was Surrounded by several Persons one of whom
had on a dark brown Coat and cocked Hat who robbed this
Informant of a gold enamelled Watch and two gold Seals

says that he was Centinel at this
time, at the Theatre, and was standing close to the said Robert
LouthThat he saw two Men rush before the said Robert Louth
and a person now present who calls himself Samuel Davis< no role >
get behind him with another ManThat said Davis pushed
against the said Robert Louth and the other Men jostled him
whilst Said Davis (who was then dressed in a brown Coat and
cocked up Hat) snatched Something from said Robert Louth,
who immediately called out, that he had been robbed of his
Watch and said Davis, and other Men ran awayAnd the
Said Fletchwell Beaumont< no role >
says that in the 3rd. and 5th. days
of January last a Woman whom he knows lives Servant
with
the said Samuel Davis< no role >
and lives in Mags Head Court
Drury Lane
and who
calls herself Sarah Crump< no role >
, pawned with him the said Coat &
Hat, for five Shillings and Six pence, and said that they were
the property of the said Samuel Davis< no role >
