One of his Majestys Justices of the
Peace
for the said County City and
Liberty.
Who being on his Oath saith that on Monday the 20 Day of December last [..]
having been out on his return to his Lodgings about the Hours of 11. & 12
at Noon he found one Margaret Alexander< no role >
in his Room and in the
Action of Rifting his Chest which has left locked up he found two
Crown Peices in her hands and told her he thought she had done a thing
the could not answer to which She replied that no body would take his
Evidence and went away after which he found his Chest had been broke
open and that three Crown Piece, a Spanish Dollara Shilling and two
pence in half Pencehad been takenand a Quarder of a Pound of Tea had
been taken from thence and this informant upon his Oath said the that he
charges the said Margaret Alexander< no role >
with feloniously Stealing
taking and carrying away the said three crown Pieces the Spanish
Dollar, one shilling in Silver two pence in half pence and a Quarteret
a pound of Tea us before mentioned and this informant on his Oath
further saith that he never made any Proposals or offered was Terms
to diswade Margaret Alexander< no role >
to settle in compound the said Felony
