taken before me this 2nd. day of September 1784.
Who being on Oath say and first the said Martha Preston< no role >
says
that on Wednesday the 4th day of August last at 12 o'Clock she saw a Counterpane
the property of her husband hanging in her yard and that the Gate
was at that time. Sheet that in a Few Minutes her Servant came in
and asked this Informant if she had taken the Counterpane in, that
in informant Going into the yard found the Counterpane had been taken
by some person or persons. And the said William Winnett< no role >
says
that on the said 4th. day of August [..] about ½ an hour past
12 o'Clock he saw a person now present who calls himself John
Ingran packing up a Counterpane within 30 or 40 Yards of said
Preston's house
