The Information of Robert Mead< no role > , Post Boy at the
Swan in Oxford Street taken before me this 11th.
day of November 1783.

Who on his Oath says tha as he this Informant was Driving
Sir William Jarvis< no role > Twysden and Francis Garforth< no role > Esqr . now present, in a
Post Chaise from London to Barnett Yesterday Afternoon; about 5
o'Clock on Finchby Common a Person now present who calls himself
Robert Cross< no role > This name instance is in set 4481. rode up to the Chaire, presented a Pistol and bid this
Informant stop;androbbed the said Sir Wm. Twyselen< no role > and
Mr. Garforth< no role > , and afterwards, rode off towards London That
this Informant took off one of his Horces from the Chair and
pursued said Cross keeping behind him a little distance until
he came to Highgate, where this Informant called out "Stop
Thiefs" That said Cross made towards Holloway, where this
Informant alarmed John Prince< no role > and other Patrole, who appeared
unwilling to assist this Informant in Securing said Cross for a considerable
time, and until the said Cross was stoppd.And
further says that the Horse now produced in the Horse on which Cross rode
when up robbed Sir William Twyselen< no role > and Mr Garforth as above stated.
