Wife"-That previous to this she had seen the saidMorris in said
Hodges's house 3 or 4 times but had never held any Conversation with
him. That said young Woman returned when this Informant asked" what answer she had
brought about Captain Cook", when she replied that" as this Informant was going
away she would not inform her" That when Hodges, Morris and this Informant
were going down stairs this Informant said to the said young Woman "Good night
to ye Money I shall see you again when she Replied No. I shall never see you again
for now you have got into their Hands for their own ends they will make a fine
Penny of you". That Hodges, Morris and this Informant name out together
when Hodges said" he wanted to go to some House to drink a Pot of Beer and proposed
that this Informant and Morris should go home to gether, to which this
Informant replied" No Mr. Hodges let us all go home to gether" That before they
sum to Hodges's house Hodges said" he would go first and send Mrs. Jones
away for that she was deceitful and should not know that this Informant
was coming to this House" that Hodges went in first about 4 or 5 minutes
and this Informant and Morris after upon knocking. That Hodges and Mrs
Jones were in the Passage That Morris This Informant Hodges and Mrs Jones
went into a Little Room facing the Passage where Mrs. Hodges was sitting with
her Child that in the said Room she observed the Bed Looking Glass China &
(which before was in this Informants Room above Stairs) the Door of which
was locked and the Key left in it. That Mr. Hodges sent Mrs. Jones for 2 Pots
of Beer, when they all cat Bread and Butter and Drank Beer except this
Informant, who was crying, That before the Beer was all drank, Hodges said
to this Informant" you had better drink for we have warned it for the Women"
when this informant did drink and perceived it had been warmed. They
all then perswaded this Informant to go to Bed which she refused at first
saying she would sit up all Night, but did go to Bed afterwards, That Mr.
Hodges and his Wife carried the Bed up to this Informants Room, before
which this Informant asked Mrs. Jones to sleep with her who refused-that she
asked Mrs. Jones to let her go back with her who said" no my Bed is not Big
enough"-This Informant then asked Hodges to let his Wife sleep with her
who said" No for that him and his Wife were very much fatiqued and he could
not sleep without her"-That upon Mrs. Jones going away this Informant
