more another time. That Hodges took this Informant to Mrs. Jones's
No. 268 in the Strand an Acquaintance of his but not of this Informants
otherwise than by calling at her Room for things she might want
That this Informant Staid at Mrs. Jones's till 9 o'Clock and drank
Tea there in company with a young Woman That she did not see Mrs.
Jones when she and Hodges first went nor until ½ past 7 o'Clock
when Mrs. Jones came home accompanied by Mrs. Hodges and after this
Informant and said young Woman had drank Tea That Mrs. Jones and
Mrs. Hodges staid a quarter of an hour and then went away again This
Informant then wrote a Letter to Mrs Nesbitt desiring her to come to this
Informant at Mrs: Jones's which Letter she sent by a Man below Stairs
who returned and said That Mrs. Nesbitt was not at home" That this
Informant then wrote a Letter to Captain Cook and addressed it to him
at the Lamp Albans Coffee (house) not knowing that he was in prison
which Letter she gave to Mrs: Jones's Daughter to be put into the Penny
post. Being then uneasy she sent the young Woman to the Brown Bear< no role >
to enquire what was become of Captain Cook, before which she requisted
the young Woman to desire the Servant Girl of the house to sit with
this Informant till she returned, who came and sat with her a part
of the time and her Mistress the remainder. That whilst the young Woman
was gone, Mr. Hodges and Mrs Morris Came Mrs Hodgis bringing with
him a Bonnett and Cloak. That Mr. Hodges asked her "two the People
behaved in that house" when this Informant replied that "she did not
like to stay there for that she did not like the Woman's Talk That Mrs.
Hodges proposed going out to have some Beer, but Informant objected
it adding that if he had Beer he had better have it there or
Stay till He and Morris got home. That Mrs: Hodges said (at Jones's)
that" this Informant need not be uneasy for that he would assist her
with Money to get her Things out of pawn That he knew Several
Gentlemen who would be glad to see her from whom she would get
plenty of Money and repay him"-That Hodges said also that" he
would get her a Room which no person should know but his
