Middlesex to wit.

The Information of Frances Lawrey< no role > Spinster taken
before me this 25th. day of April 1783.

Who being on Oath says that she was Born at Falmonth in Cornwall
where her Father is a Sail makerThat she is 23 Years of Age and
is a single woman . That she was brought up to plain work and came
to London about two Years ago with Nelse Faulk< no role > a Danish Consul
who is her Relation. That she has been connected with Captain Cook
about two Years and cabited with him at No. 33 in Greek Street,
No. 18 Porter Street and other Places and lives with him at this
time. That the Day before Good Friday last, she this Informant
took out a Warrant against Captain Cook as this Office for an Assault
committed by him on this Informant the Day before for which he
was committed to Prison the same day. That this Informant did
not know that Captain Cook was or would be Committed to Prison untill
the Friday morning when she was informed that a Note was sent to
her from Captain Cook in Prison and that said Note was delivered by Mr.
Nugent to Mr. Hodges on the said Thursday night about 9 o'Clock
That said Hodges never gave her said Note nor told her of it
but that she was informed of it by Mr. Nugent on Friday
Morning about 4 o'Clock. That it was about twelve on One o'Clock on the
said Thursday when she Charged Capt Cook before the Magistrate.
That after she had made the Charge she was disposed to forgive Captain
Cook but was permaded not, by Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Hodges both of whom
told her that nothing would be done to Captain Cook except his receiving
a Reprimand from the Justice. That Hodges and Furneaux the Constable
called her out at the Brown Bear< no role > and told her that the Justice Wanted
to speak with her and them and this Informant walked to the bottom of
Bow Street where Hodges gave Furneaux a Shillings who wanted
to be paid more, when Hodges told him that he would give him
