The Information of Thomas Jacks< no role > Edward
Dela force
< no role > and Thomas Manwaring< no role > Taken
and made on Oath before me David Wilmot< no role >
Esquire one of his Majestys Justices of the
Peace for the County of Middlesex the 17th. day
day of September 1782.

These Informants on their Oaths respectively Say And first
the said Thomas Jacks< no role > for himself Saith That on Thursday
the Twelfth day of September Instant he with the other Informants
was acquant that some Stolen Goods were Concealed that
Morning in the Dwelling house of George Franklin< no role > at No. 36
in Duke street Old Artillery Ground and on receiving such
Information they immediately went to the said Franklin's house
and the door being open they went into the same And this
Informant Saith that the other Informants Delaforce and
Manwaring went up stairs with Franklin in order to search
for such stolen Goods, this Informant staying below stairs during
that time That soon after Manwaring came down stairs and
immediately with this Informant went down into the Celler
and on entring the outer Celler they found James Scott< no role > now under
Examination without a Coat on, That Scott immediately
pointed to a door into the next Cellar and Said to this Informant
there it is, That this Informant immediately lifted up a large
green Cloth which hung over the door and endeavoured to push
open the same when it was opened to him by some person within
where he found Isaac Votear< no role > and Thomas Deane< no role > now under
Examination standing up in the Cellar with their Coals off
and their shirt sleeves turned up, with Candles burning and
a press for Stamping of Half pence and a Quantity of new Half pence
made and immediately Deane offered this Informant to give
him Forty Quineas to let him and Volear go and this Informant
might take away the Tools, That this Informant and the other
Informant Manwaring then took Votear and Deane into Custody
And this Informant Thomas Manwaring< no role > Saith That he
was present at the same time with Jacks and did see the
above Transaction and found two Dyes in the Press in the Cellar
where Votear and Deane were found And this Informant
Edward Delaforce< no role > Saith that he was in the house with the
other Informants and went up stairs into the Work shop of
Franklin which Franklin unlocked and upon making
Search found a Quantity of bad Half pence together with a
Quantity of bad Silver and on Franklin's desk was a Pocket
book which this Informant Inspected and found there in
