me this 24th. day of September 1782
Who being upon Oath says that a person now
Present who calls himself William Allen< no role >
hath worked for
him as a Journeyman Taylor
about seven Months
That on Tuesday the 17th. instant an Handkerchief now
produced containing Forty Crown Pieces two gold Rings
two pair of Silver Buckles, twenty two Guineas, six
Silver Tea Spoons, a pair of silver Tea Tongs and other things
were Stolen out of this Informants HouseThat Suspecting the said William Allen< no role >
to be the Person
who had robbed him he caused him to be apprehended and
on this Informants searching him at the Brown Bear
in Bow Street Covent Garden
he found concealed in the
Lining of the Coat of the said William Allen< no role >
sewed up
the said Handkerchief; from which and other Circumstances
he doth suspect the said William Allen< no role >
to be the Person
that robbed him as aforesaid
