The Information of Francis Cattanes de
Capitanei
< no role > taken before me this 30th. day
of June 1774

Who being upon Oath says that in November last he deposited
several Boxes containing wearing Apparel and other things in the
house of Joseph Day< no role > in Greville Street Hatton Garden not as
a Security for any Debt but merely for safe Custody until he
should return from Southampton where he was then going,
that the said Boxes were locked corded and sealed with this
Informant's Seal, that he has since been credibly informed
and does verily believe that several of his said Boxes have
been broke open by the said Joseph Day's Orders and in
the said Joseph Day's Presence and that a considerable Quantity
of the said wearing Apparel and other things have been
feloniously taken and carried away by the said Joseph
Day and disposed of by him without this Informant's knowledge
consent or authority, And this Informant further says
that he has just Cause to Suspect and does suspect and
verily believe that several Coats Waistcoats Breeches Shirts
and other Articles of [..] wearing Apparel and other things
this Informant's Property which were stolen out of
the said Boxes as above mentioned are now concealed in
the dwelling house of the said Joseph Day in Greville
Street Hatton Garden, and this Informant further says
