in the County of Middlesex Lapidary Martha Tate wife of William

< no role > of Baldwins Gardens in the Parish of Saint Andrew Holborn in
the County aforesaid Pawn broker Letitia Gerard< no role > of Rolls Buildings
aforesaid Spinster and David Jarvis< no role > of Fetter Lane London Pawn
Broker severally make Oath, and Say That they were on or about the
Tenth day of August last Bound in certain Recognizances at the Rotation Office in Bow Street Covent
Garden to Prosecute and give Evidence against the said Elizabeth Bewell< no role >
for Two Several Felonies by her Committed and further Say That at the
then Next General Session of the Peace they these Deponents attended
at Hicks Hall and there gave Evidence before the Grand Jury on two
Several Bills of Indictment against the said Elizabeth Bewell< no role > the one for stealing a Handkerchief and
the other for Stealing a White Muslin Apron and a Laced Tucker
and which were Both returned to the Court True Bills and these
Deponents further say that being Ordered by the Court to Attend at the
Old Bailey to Prosecute and Give Evidence as aforesaid they Accordingly
went down thither and Attended 'till the Court Broke up and the next
Morning about Nine O'Clock attended there again and Continued there
the whole day 'till half an hour after Seven o'Clock in the Evening
of the same day when being Tired thro.' Fatigue and want of Nourishment
and not seeing the Prisoners Name on that days List Stuck up in the
Yard apprehended she wou'd not be Tried that Evening they therefore
went Over to the Pity head in the Old Bailey to Refresh themselves
where they continued about three quarters of an hour and then
returned to the Court again where to their great surprize were
informed that the said prisoner Elizabeth Bewell< no role > was Delivered by
Proclamation for want of Prosecution and Lastly these Deponents Say
that so much of the above Affidavit as relates to Each of them' is true
and that they did not for bear to prosecute and Give Evidence with
Effect through any favour partiality or Wilfull neglect but merely
from the Circumstances above Stated as these Deponents were
