Maketh Oath and saith That he this Deponent
was in January Sessions last Bound over before Mr. Justice
Wilmot to prosecute James Lees< no role >
for Felony in coming
Half pence But it appearing to Mr. Chamberlayne< no role >
the
Sollicitor of the Mint that there was not sufficient
Evidence to convict the said James Lees< no role >
of the said
offence the said Sollr. thought proper not to prefer
a Bill of Indictment against him and although
he this Deponent carried a Letter from the said Sollrs.
office to the said Justice desiring him not to return
the said Recognizance for the reasons aforesaid
Yet the same was returned in January Sessions last
And this Deponent further saith that the reason
he did not appear and prefer a Bill of Indictment
against the said James Lees< no role >
was by the directions
given him by Mr. Chamberlayne< no role >
and that it was
not through any favor or affection for the said
James Lees< no role >
or for any Reward or the Hope or
promise thereof
