The Information of Henry Legh< no role >
Enquire and Jonathan Rutland< no role >
taken before Us two of his Majestys
Justices of the Peace for the sd. County City
& Liberty

Who severally being upon Oath say & first this
Informt. Henry Legh< no role > for himself saith that
bet.a about12 & One o Clock at Night on Wednesday the
Sixth of May last he came out of the House of
one Mr Pocock< no role > in Gate Street Lincolns Inn
Fields to go home that at the end of stone cutters
Alley in the same Street he perceived some person
pulling at his Hatt upon which he lifted his
hand up to his Hatt to prevent it's being taken
away & Immediately received a Violent Blow
on his Ann which he believes was brokenBy& atthat
means this Informt. called out for assistance
& received several other Blows which knocked him down
but by whom the Blows were given this Informt.
cannot say that upon his recovering he found
his Wig about a Yard Distance from him & his that
was taken & came away but saw no persons
whatever that the Hatt now produced this
Informt verily believes to be the Hatt which
he had on at that in [..] aforesaid and of which he was
Robbed in the manner abovementioned

And this Informant Jonathan Rutland< no role > for
himself saith that on the forenoon of the
7th. day of May last a person now present who
calls herself Sarah Davis< no role > came to his Mistress
Shop the Corner of Feathers Cond Buildings
next to Bedford Street & Pawned the Hatt
now produced in the Name of Sarah Davis< no role >
for five Shillings which Hatt is now Sworn
to be the property of the or Informt. Henry Legh< no role >
