The Information of Arundell Carne< no role >
James Dawson< no role > Peter Dawson< no role > &
Sarah Hinchiffe< no role > taken before us two of
his Majesty's Justices of the peace for
the said County City & Liberty

Who severally being upon Oath say and first
this Informant Arundell Carne for himself
saith that upon the 6th. Day of August 1772.
this Informant did received from One Robert King< no role >
a person now present a Promisory Note for the
sum of two Pound & two Shillingswhich said Note
[..] Payable to this Informt. or order
Six Days after Date that the said Note was
signed by the said Robert King< no role > ' & another person
who called himself John Smith< no role > that this
Informant delivered the said Note into the hands
of the other Informant James Dawson< no role > in order
that the might procure the payment thereof
& that the Promisory Note now produced is the
same Note as received by this Informant as above
& which he delivered to the other Informant

And this Informant James Dawson< no role > for
himself saith that he did receive the Promisory
Note now produced from the other Informant
Arundell Carne in Order to procure the payment
thereof and that upon Monday afternoon last
this Informant was sent for to the Houses of the
or the Informant Peter Dawson< no role > a person wanting
to speak with him & that upon his going into the
Shop of the said Peter Dawson< no role > he there saw
a person now present who calls himself Robert
King
< no role > who upon seeing this Informt. in the Shop
Immediately say'd Damn Yourth his Eyes where in
the Note. this Informant then say'd he would
fetch it & accordingly went for it upon his returning
to the Shopuntilthe said Robert King< no role > met him
in the Shop & upon this Informant opening the
said Note which he had brought in his hand the said
