for the County of Middx the 26th day of May
1772
Who saith as follows Viz
J, Peter Lantier< no role >
, French Merchant having
Some goods to Sell: I pray'd one Friend of mine,
Called Joseph Bans, to find for me a Merchant
to buy my Goods.
The said Joseph Bans promised me to do it, &
the Misfortune to direct himself to a Jew, this Jew
who [..] is of a little Stature, & without doubt of a
Little Conscience, Said to him, that he Knew a
Merchant mightly Rich, & who was able to buy for
a Thousand pounds of Goods for ready Money & [..]
besides Said to him that that Merchant had House
in Town & House in the County, Ships upon the
Sea & a great trade in the English Iland
(Colonies) this little Jew asked to the Said
Bans, his Directions the Said Bans gave it
Some Days after this pretended; & famous
Merchant went to the Said Bans to See The
goods, he did See Some of it, & ask'd when he
he Cou'd See Them all, They answered to him
that he Cou'd not See Them but in The latter
