The several Examinations of Thomas Hawkins< no role > and
George Bosworth< no role > Labourers
taken before me one of his Majesty's Justices of
the peace in and for the County of Essex this
23dday of March 1772 who one their Oaths
severally say and first the said Thomas Hawkins< no role >
on his oath saith

That he was a Helper tothe Edward Mould< no role > who is a [..] Carter
to James Barwick< no role > of Waltham Holy Boss in the County of Essex
Esquire and hathbebeen Servant to the said James Barwick< no role > Esqr.
ever since May last & during that time hath been chiefly employed as
a Helper to the said Edward & that about 2 days after he came into
his Service he went with the said Edward Mould< no role > from Waltham aforesaid to London with a load
of Hay which was then going to be carried to one Mr Cawers in London & that
as he was upon the Road in Company with the said Edward Mould< no role >
he told this Examinant that he had got a Truss of Hay more than the
load & that he should sell it & woud give this Examinant half the
Money, which he accordingly did whose he got to London at this Examining
saw the said Edward Mould< no role > sell the said Truss of Hay to Torn the
ostler at the Basing house Shoreditch for a shillingsAnd that he hath
almost every Week been up to London with the said Edward Mould< no role >
to assist him in taking a Load of Hay every Week to the said Mr. Carvers and
that the said Edward Mould< no role > hathalways took one or more Tursses
of Hay more than the Lord which he sold sometimes to the said
