The Information of Ann the
Wife of George Smith< no role > and John
Tubb< no role > & Isabella Tomkins< no role > taken before me One of his
Majesty's Justices of the Peace for
the said County

Who severally being upon Oath say And first
this Informant Ann Smith< no role > for herself saith
that on Tuesday Morng. last her Husband
brought to her Six Guineas & a five Shillings
and three pence in Gold which Money she put
into a little Wooden Screw Boxwith three
Shillings in Silver& she took the said Box
& Money up Stairs to the Apartment of the
Person now Present who calls herself Susanah
Defoe who had been a Lodger for a few Days
that she found the said Susannah Defoe
in Company with two Persons now Present
who call themselves Mary Rushworth< no role > &
Ann Green< no role > that Mary Rushworth Coasting
how much Money She was Worth this Informt.
say'd that she had Money 100 and Immediately
Opened his Box & Produced & shewed them
the Money it contained being Six Guineas &
five Shillings & three Pence &three Shillings
in Silverupon which Susanah Defoe< no role > Defoe pressed
this Informt. very much to Dine with her which
she declined upon which Defoe asked her to
Drink some Gin which she did & they had five
half pints of Gin among them they then all
came down Stairs together when this Informt
being same that sick put her Box with the
Money abovemd & three Shillings more in it upon the Chimney piece in the Partner
& afterwards took the Box & Money with her into
the Shop-put it in the Window near which she
said down herselfthat Susannah Defoe [..]
Greensat down on the Opposite side of the Table
close to the Window where she had put the Box
& Money Ann Green< no role > & Mary Rushworth walked
about the Shop that in about ten Minutes too Mary
Rushworth sayd she expected her Husband at home
& went away in about three Minutes this Informt
Missed the Box from of the Window Uponwhich
