Informations of Witnesses taken at
the parish of Allhallows the less in the
ward of Dow gate in London the 22nd. day of
June 1790 on view of the body of William
Hill then and there lying dead.

Joseph Ward< no role > of No.18 Upper Thames Street London Porter to
Mr. Wm. Whitwell< no role > of No. 145 Thames Street Day Salter maketh Oath
that yesterday morning Dept and another man were at Work at his
Masters Warehouse the Coroner of Ducks foot lane in the parish of Allhallows
the less in the Ward of Dow gate lowering empty Oil Butts from the Upper
ware Louse to the Ground floor-that about noon they before to lower about
and Dept called out to Justice notice to any persons who might be passing
to take care-that the Rope of the Coane whereby the but was suspected
broke and the but fell down in the Street & presently Dept disordered
that it had fallen upon the deced who was lying upon She Ground by the
side of it. Dept says the deced appeared to be dead, and his Head was much
hurt and one of his Thighs broken.

Thomas Coats< no role > . of the first Regiment of poor Guards a private
maketh oath that yesterday morning Dept was employed with the
last Witness lowering empty butts from she upper Warehouse of Mr. Whitwell
to the Ground floor-That about noon as they were lowering one the rope
of the Crane brooke and it fell into the Street & presently afterwards
Dept on looking out saw the deced lying aften the Ground in the Street near
the butt which had fallen.
