Information of Witnesses taken at London
that is to say, at the Parish of Saint Bennett
Pauls Wharf in the Ward of Castle baynard
in London aforesaid the 14th: day of August
1789 on view of the Body of Thomas Hunt< no role >
then and there lying Dead

Thomas Ryder< no role > a Lighterman and Lodger at No.
3 Flour delarce Court Blackfrairs London maketh Oath
and saith that about five in the Afternoon of Wednesday
last Dept. the deceased and about three or four other
persons were sitting in the Stern of the Sally Barge that
Deponent left the deceased and said other persons in said
Barge, and went in Shore [..] in order to get against of
Beer that Dept. had scarce got [..] to the house when he
was going to get his Beer; when he heard an alarm that
the deceased had fallen Over board that at the time
Dept: left the deceased he and said other persons in the
Barge with him, seemed very friendly together that
Deponent immediately went down upon hearing the alarm
that deced had fallen over board, and in about [..]
eight Minutes Deponent having grappled with a grappling
Iron for the deceased, looked him up by the Leg into at Boat
that the deceased [..] appeared to be quite dead that
Deponent brought the deceased on Show to the house known
by the Sign of the Fortune of War that Mr. Redburn
a Surgeon who had been [..] sent for [..] tried every means to
recover the deceased but without effect for the deceased
never recovered
