Parish Clerk

Ordered that a Sum not exceeding twenty Pounds
Fifteen shillings be paid to Mr. John Winter< no role > Oswin
Parish Clerk for one year ending at Lady day last as a
Gratuity, upon condition that he doth not collect any
Money from the Parishioners in lieu of wages, and that
he constantly discharge the duties of his Place.

Engine keeper

Then John Iselton< no role > was put up and chose Keeper of
the Fire Engines for the year ensuing.

Overseers

The Vestry then proceeded to the Nomination of
Overseers of the Poor , And Mr. Church Warden Woodmass
was the first proposed to be an Overseer, but he desiring to
be excused, Mr. Peter Pope< no role > , Mr. James Green< no role > , Mr. Henry
Rutt
< no role > , and Mr. George Maynard< no role > were severally Nominated
to be Overseers of the Poor for the year ensuing.

Auditors

Ordered That Mr. Pope, Mr. James Mr. Green, and
Mr. Rutt, the late Overseers. Mr. Gretton, Mr. Maynard, Mr.

withdrawn. And Mr. Pope moved that the Fine for the
Office of Church Warden only be lower'd from Forty pounds
to Twenty five Pounds; And being seconded by Mr. Tutet
the Question was put, but carried in the Negative.

Fire Engines

Mr. Church Warden Woodmass then acquainted the
Vestry that Mr. Bristow the Engine maker had complain'd
of the Fire Engines being out of Order, and had offered to
keep them in constant Repair at a Salary of Four Guineas
per annum. John Iselton< no role > the Engineer was then Ordered
to be called in, and he reported the small Engine to be in
good Order. Mr. Bristow's Proposal for Repairing the
Engines was not further considered. But Mr. Maynard
moved that sometime in the Months of August and
February in every Year both the Engines be taken out
