Then the Minutes of the Last Vestry of the 7th. May
were Read and Confirmed.

Maintenace of
Poor

Mr. Church Warden Boyd then took notice that a
Complaint had been made by Messrs. Hughes and Phillips
Masters of the Workhouse that the Price they were paid
for the Poor in the Workhouse was insufficient, and that
they required Three pence a head Extraordinary, which
was paid them by other Parishes, but were willing to take
off the said Three pence, when the Price of Provisions was
lower. And after some debate held thereon, It was Moved
by Mr. Allen, that the Sense of the Vestry be taken, Whether
the Business should be further enter'd into at this present
time, or postponed to a future day. And being Seconded
the Question was put. and Mr. Church Warden Boyd
declared, the Majority were for defering it to a future day.

Mr. Gretton then Moved that a Vestry be held on
Friday next the 11th. Instant at Nine 'o Clock in the
Forenoon to take the aforesaid Requisition of Messrs.
Hughes and Phillips into Consideration, and that Mr.
Hughes or Mr. Phillips be then desired to attend, And being
Seconded by Mr. Tutet, the Question was put and It was
Ordered according to the said Motion.

Mr. Church Warden Boyd acquainted the Gentlemen
present that this Vestry was held by Adjournment to take
into Consideration the Extra Price required by Messrs. Hughes
And Phillips for the Poor in the Workhouse . And the Minutes
