Men's Prison.The Committee having met to receive Proposals and to Contract for
building a Prison for the Men the following Persons attended and delivered
in their proposals for performing the Works mentioned in the Surveyors
particular at the prices undermentioned./.

Proposal Accepted Whereupon the Committee accepted the proposal of the said Thomas

, but he being informed that his proposal exceeded the Estimate of

agreed to do the whole of the said Works
for the Sum of Two thousand eight hundred and fifty Pounds, agreeably to
the said Estimate, the said Works to be covered on or before the 31st of October
next and finished on or before the 15th of June 1797And the said

is to enter into Security with two responsible House Keepers
in one thousand pounds penalty for the due performance thereof
Labourer In Trust
to be employed.Ordered that the Surveyor be empowered to employ a Person as
Labourer in Trust to see that the works be done pursuant to the Contract
Old Materials SoldThe Surveryor informed the Committee that the Old Materials ordered
to be Sold had been disposed of and produced after paying the expences of
sorting them and of the Sale the Sum of £158.. 3.. 4 which he dilvered
to the Treasurer.
