Surveyor to make an
Estimate of New-
Flooring the Hall and
supporting the same
on Columns also for
rebuilding the Prisons

The Committee Proceeded to View the State of the
Mens & Womens Prisons and took into Consideration
in what manner the former might be Enlarged so as
to Admit of the Prisoners being kept Seperate and
directed the Surveyor to make an Estimate of such
Improvements and Alterations And the Committee
being Informed by the Surveyor that the Girders
Joists and flooring of the Hall were in a very
ruinous and dangerous situation in so much as to
make it necessary to have Props & Shores to support
the same on every extraordinary meeting of the
Governors and also that it had been under
consideration some Years since to remove the
Prisons to the Scite of two Old Houses on the
North Side of Tudor Street Abutting South on the
Great Hall The Committee Ordered the Surveyor
to make an Estimate of the Expence of new-
Flooring the Hall & supporting the same on Columns
And also for rebuilding the Prisons on the
aforesaid Spot of Ground.
