Mr Robert Phipps< no role > Appeared at this Meeting & Proposed to
take on a repairing Lease for 31 Years to Commence from
Christmas last the Houses in Cock & Hoop Yard late in the
Tenure or Occupation of the Reverend Mr Wheatley at the
Yearly Rent of £4 payable quarterly clear of Taxes
(the said Lease to Contain the usual Covenants of Parish
Lease) and to pay a Fine of Forty Pounds one & outing the
said Lease, Which Proposal the Feoffees taking into Considn.
Agreed to & having called in Mr Phipps Acquainted him there with
and Mr Phipps now Agreed to stand by his said Proposal
paid a Guinea (which was deposited in [..] Fisher's hands)
in part of the sd. Fine, And Mr Phipps Agrees to pay for the said
Lease & ye Counterpart thereof [..] ,which
Lease & Counterpart Mr Fisher was Ordered to set ready
with all Convenient Speed, in the said Lease is to be in expted
a Covenant for Mr Phipps to have free Ingress Egress & Regness
Way & Passage with his Chairs from Houndsditch to & from ye sd. premisses
thro' the sd. Gateway

At a General Vestry of All the Inhabitants
of the Porthat pay to poor of this Parish on
Friday the 10th. day of March 1748 ( Pursuant
to Notice given in the Church after Divine Service
on Sunday Morning last) in order to make a Rate for
paying ye Expenses of for fencing in ye New Burying [..]
Grod. for the Use of this Parish, and other incident Charges
relating thereto
