In the Lease of 500d. Years Granted by Samuel Brewster< no role > Esqr . the late Impropriator
[..] the Parish of the Shape under the Church and a Peice of Ground thereto adjoining was
Named of as settled by Council on both Sides But Mr. Heckford who is Entitled or Claims
Title to the Premisses granted by the said Lease at the same time offered to the Committee
another Clause to be added to the Bill to Prevent the Parish from making use of the piece
of Ground for Enlarging the Church if thought necessary Which on the behalf of the
Parish was Objected to and the further Consideration was deferrd till Tuesday next
whereupon Mr. Heckford offered to sell the Parish his Interest in the sd. Ground

Mr. Heckford Appeared & made a Demand of £50 for the absolute Sale of the Peice of
Ground in Question. Whereupon after several Debates had upon the matter The Committee
[..] reed to give Mr. Heckford 10 Guineas for the Ground with Liberty for the Deputy in
[..] se he refused to take it to offer him 15 Guineas and Accordingly the Fifteen Guineas
[..] re offered but refused

The Lease from Samuel Brewster< no role > Esqr . and others to the Parish of the Shops and the
[..] fore Ground was by Order of the Committee delivered to Mr. Dance the Surveyor to Draw
Copy of the Planby

Whereupon The Plan of the Ground was again reviewd by by Mr. Dance and Mr. Price
[..] gave the Committee as their Opinion that there was not an Absolute Necessity for the
[..] King use of the said Peice of Ground in Question. Upon which it was Unanimously resolved
dissolve the above Proposals made to Mr. Heckford

At a Vestry held for the whole Parish at the Bell Tavern in Aldgate Church Lane On
Wednesday the 11th. day of March 1740

The Church Wardens Acquainted the Vestry That on the Audit of the late Mr. Hawks and
Atkinsons Renter Wardens Account there appeared to be due from them to the Parish the
[..] of £61.15.6 on the Ballance of their said Account (Vizt.) form Mr. Hawks the Sum
[..] £49.15..9.. and from Mr. Alkinson the Sum of £11..19..9. That the said Mr. Hawks
[..] d & left his wife Executrix And application has been made to her from time to
[..] for the Payment of the said Ballance but she Pretends her Husband told her
[..] he was Indebled to the Parish no more than £23 and therefore she was
[..] lved pay no more
