The Church Wardens also Acquainted the Vestry that on their attendance on the Co [..]
of the House of the Commons to whom the Bill now in Parliament for Rebuilding the [..]
and Steeple was Comitted Mr. Samuel Heckford< no role > who is Entitled to the Shops under that said
Peice of Ground next Houndsditch Granted to the Parish by the late Impropriator for [..]
500d. Years at the Rent of £50 P Ann Appeared before the said Committee and Mov [..]
might have a Clause or Provisoe Added to the Bill to Prevent any part of the Parish of [..]
or Steeple being Rebuilt on the said Peice of Ground The Consideration whereof was [..]
by the sd. Committee to Tuesday last. In which time the Committee Appointed by Vestry
Managing the Affairs relating to the Building of the Church had a Meeting with the [..]
Heckford in Order to Purchase his Inheritance in the said Ground and was offered for the
Fifteen Guineas but he insisting on Twenty Guineas the same was rejected But one
Warden Attendance On the Committee of the House of Commons with the Deputy Mr. Heck [..]
Mr. Mackelean and Mr. Wellbourn It was thought proper fearing Mr. Heckford's mo [..]
his Clause to be Added to the Bill mightretard and hinder the same Passing this Session
Knowing but that the Parish might have Occasion for to make use of the said Peice of [..]
came to the following Agreement with the said Mr. Heckford

We Jointly and Severally Promise to pay to Mr. Saml Heckford< no role > the Sum of Fifteen Pou [..]
Fifteen Shillings in Case the own Intended Church of Saint Botolph without Aldgate
and the sleeple or any part thereof shall be built upon a certain Peice of Ground Cont [..]
Thirty seven Feet of assize more or less lying between the Passage leading from the [..]
of the said Parish Church into Hounds ditch or an any Part th [..] of the Inheritance [..]
said Peice of Ground belongs to the said Mr. Heckford and in which in such Case he the
Heckford hereby Under takes and Agrees a tour Charge to Convey in due Form of [..]
or such other Persons as we shall direct for the purpose of Rebuilding the said Church
Steeple We say We Promise to pay the said Sum within one Month next after [..]
on the said Peice of Ground as aforesaid shall be be begin to be made Witnesses
the 10th. day of March 1740
