Mary Travell< no role > Singlewoman maketh oath
that divers years ago She was hired & lived as ahired servant
by the year at Certain Wages by & with John Coates< no role > a Victualler
in Church yard Alley in the Parish of Saint Botolph without
Aldgate in the Said County & Continued in Such Service for
the Space of two Years & upwards & by means thereof gained
a legal Settlement there That She has not Since lived as a hired
Servant for the Space of a year elsewhere nor was She ever
married nor hath She done any Act to gain another Settlement
That She hath two Children namely Christopher Travell< no role > born
in the Parish of St Luke in the Said County who will be Five
years old the Tenth day of July next and Mary Travell< no role > born
in the Parish of Saint Sepulchre London who will be three
years old the Fourth day of August next That both the Said
Children are Bastards & illegitimate by reason that She this
Deponent was never married and that one John Toddard< no role >
now or late of the Parish of Saint Clement Danes in the
Said County of Middlesex Taylor is the Father of the Sd Children

Joseph Aslin< no role > maketh oath That divers years
ago he was duly bound to & Served the whole of his Apprenticeship
with William England< no role > a Plaisterer in that part of Brown Bear
Alley which is in the Parish of St Botolph without Aldgate in
the said County & by means thereof gained a legal Settlement
there That this Deponent never rented a house of the yearly Rent
or Value of Ten pounds nor ever Served any Parish office nor
ever paid any Poors Rates or Kings Taxes nor ever did any
Act to gain a Subsequent Settlement That he hath a wife
named Mary < no role > & three Children namely Mary < no role > Aged about
Twenty two years & Joseph < no role > Aged about Twelve Years & James < no role >
about nine Years the lawful Issue of this Deponent by his
Said wife none of whom have done any Act to gain a Settlemt
in their own right
