Davis
< no role > maketh oath that her Said husband is now absent
from her at Sea That he has informed her & which She
believes to be true that he was born in St John Square in
the Parish of Saint James Clerkenwell in the Said County
& never was bound an Apprentice nor ever lived as a hired
Servant for a year nor ever Served any Parish office or
paid any Poors Rates or Kings Taxes nor ever did any
Act to gain a Settlement in his own right And this
Deponent Cannot give any Account respecting the
Settlement of her said husbands Parents or either of
them save that her Said husband has informed her that
his Father carried on the Business or profession of an
Apothecary in the said Parish of St James Clerkenwell
& that She was Married to her Said husband at the Fleet
many years before the late marriage Act took place.

That many years ago She was hired & lived as ahired servant by the
year by & with John Gardiner< no role > in Queen Street in the Parish of
St Botolph witht Aldgate in the sd County Victualler at Certain Wages
& Continued in Such Service for the Space of a year & upwards & by
means thereof gained a legal Settlement there That She has not
Since lived as a hired servant elsewhere for the Space of a year nor
hath She been ever married or done any Act to gain anothr Settlemt
