Continued Thursday 18th. April 1793 .

And the Committee had resolved that John Edwards< no role > late Apprentice to William Scripps< no role >
should be inferred after for Mr. Lock's Gift and at this Court he was ordered to be
inquired after accordingly.

At this Court the Minutes of the House Committee were confirmed.

The Minutes of the Prison Commitee of the 10th. April were than read whereby it
appeared

That the Committee had authorized the superintendant of the Prisons to employ such
of the Prisoners as he may think proper in working at their respective Trades to
which they have been accustomed.

And the Committee having taken into consideration the assistance which Mary Gearing< no role >
the wife of the Superintendant of the Prisons had given for 9 Weeks in the Women's
Prison during which time she had exerted herself with great diligence and propriety
in promoting useful industry among the Prisoners and particularly by teaching them
to spin both Wool and Flax

The Committee had ordered that Mary Gearing< no role > should be paid 7 shillings a Week for
9 Weeks as a Compensation for the above services and that she be continued in
the same situation till further Orders.

That the Clerk had informed the Committee that Jeremiah Carter< no role > late one of the Artsmasters
had been convicted of Felony and ordered for transporation and that Thomas Allour< no role >
another of the Artsmasters had lately become a Bankrupt .

And at this Court the Minutes of the Prison Committee were confirmed.

The Minutes of the Bethlem Committee of the 23rd. March were then read whereby it
appeared that after proper Advertizements they had contracted with Thomas Dalby< no role >
to supply the Hospital with Beef Mutton and Veal from Lady Day to Michas
next at 3 Shillings per Stone his being the only offer.

And the Commitee Ordered that Furniture should be provided for the Matrons Apartment
at the expence of and to remain the property of the Hospital under the direction
of the Treasurer the Auditor General Mr. Widmore and Mr. Wadd.

At this Court the Minutes of the Bethlem Committee was confirmed.

Extract of his Will
read.


An Extract of the Will of Clark Winchester< no role > Esqr . being read whereby he directs that all
the rest and residue of his Estate and Effects after the decease of his Wife Martha
Winchester
< no role > shall be distributed among 20 of the most public Charities of Charitable
Institutions in and about the Metropoles at the discretion of his Executors.

Ordered that Mr. Alderman Skinner be requested to Wait upon William Hussey< no role >
Esquire and the other Executor desiring their hand attention to the Hospitals of Bridewell
and Bethlem and to as certain whether the residue consists of personal Estate only.
