Continued Thursday 31st. January 1793 .

At this Court a Memorial was presented and read signed by 8 of the Artsmasters
complaining of the notice which had been given them to quit their apartments and of
being hardly and unjustly heated by the Court after which

The several Minutes of the Prison Committee were confirmed except that part which relates to
the removal of the Artsmasters out of the Hospital and it was resolved

That the Memorial just presented by some of the Artsmasters be referred to a Select
Committee composed of the following Governors Henry Cranke< no role > Esqr. Auditor General
William Drewe< no role > Esqr. Mr. Samuel Thorpe< no role > John English Dolben< no role > Esqr. Mr. William Box< no role >
William Willis< no role > Esqr. George Samuel Wegg< no role > Esqr. George Stubbs< no role > Esqr. and Mr. Daniel
Lambert
< no role > and that 5 be Quoram.

And the Court having agreed with the Report of the Prison Committee recommending the
superannuating the Porter and Matron of Bridewell.

Porter & Matron's
Annuities.


Resolved that an annuity of £60 be given to the Porter from Lady day next and that an
annuity of £50 be given to the Matron from the same period at which time they
are to leave the Hospital and their present salaries are to cease.

Resolved that William Rundle< no role > and his Wife be appointed to take the care of the Men and
Womens Prisoners and to do the Duty of the Porter and Matron

And that in consideration thereof an additional Salary of £20 be given to William Rundle< no role > and a salary of £30
be given to his wife from Lady Day next during the pleasure of the Court

The Minutes of the Committee of Auditors of the 30th. January were then read
whereby it appeared that they had Audited the accounts of both Hospitals for the
last year and found the following sums were then in the hands of the different
Officers Vizt.

His. Legacy of £1000.


An Extract of the Will of Charles Higgins< no role > late of the Parish of Saint Stephen Coleman Street
London was read whereby he gave £1000 for the use of Bethlem Hospital.

The Treasurer reported that he had received the following Benefactions for the use of both
Hospitals.
