Upon Reading the humble Petition of
Joseph Stokes< no role > Citizen and Weaver Setting forth That
he served his Apprenticeship in this Hospital to John
Sanders
< no role > by Indenture dated the 17th. day of September 1770
and by an Order of Court of the 13th. day of May 1778 was
made free of this City the 3d. day of December 1782. was
set up for himself in his Trade as a Weaver at No. 40
Holywell Lane Shoreditch had received Mr Fowke's Gift
and praying part of Mr. Lock's Gift It is Ordered
that Mr. Deputy Rogers Mr Saml. Swain< no role > & Thomas
Phillips
< no role > Esqr . or any two of them be desired to Inquire if
the said Joseph Stokes< no role > be set up for himself in his said
Trade and of his hopefulness therein and Report the same
to the Court.
