in the Words and figures following "This Committee
resuming the Consideration of increasing the Number of Incurable
Patients in Bethlem Hospital in Order to carry into Execution
the pious Intentions of divers Governors and others particularly
directed to that Branch of this most useful Charity and having
taken a View of all the Apartments Cells and Conveniences
within the Walls of this Hospital and considered the Improvemts.
that will be Necessary are Unanimously of Opinion that the
Building at the East End of this Hospital formerly used as an
Infirmary may without any Inconvenience be appropriated for
the immediate reception of ten incurable Patients in Addition
to one Hundred incurable Patients already maintained and
that the same be forthwith prepared and fitted up for that
Purpose and the Honble Philip Bouverie< no role > Pusey having lately
given a Benefaction of £200 and other Benefactors
contributed liberally for the Specific Purpose of receiving an
Additional Number of Incurable Patients into this Hospitals
This Committee are further of Opinion that an Estimate of
the Expence of extending the Accommodations of the present
Buildings for the Reception of a still greater number of
Incurable Patients be forthwith made by the Surveyor if
the Court shall think proper in Case the Governors of this
Hospital by the Munificence of the generous and humane
shall be enabled to Accomplish so desirable and necessary
a work All which is Nevertheless submitted to the
Judgment of the Court." This Court having duly
weighed and Considered the said Report doth agree with
the Committee and order the same or so much thereof as
they shall think necessary from time to time to be carried
into Execution.
