Continued Thursday 18th. April 1776

and Deputy Consenting to waive their Right to Nominate at the
next General Nomination if their present nomination were approved
It is Ordered that such Election shall be Determined by a majority of
Votes at the next general Court and that notice of such intended Election
be inserted in the Summonses for such Court.

General Nomination

It is Ordered that the General Nomination of governors be at
the Court to be held in November next and in the Interim that the late Order
made for naming governors be Suspended.

Edward Umfreville< no role > Esqr . one of the governors reported that in pursuance
of an order of Court of the 25th. January last he had made Inquiry and
found that John Hanson< no role > late apprentice to Joseph Sharp< no role > was set up
for himself in his Trade and has the Character of a diligent & Sober Man

Hanson John< no role > to be
paid £10 Locks Gift


It is Ordered that the Steward do pay the said John Hanson< no role > Ten
Pounds out of Mr. Locks Gift to be allowed him in his next Account.

Andrews James to
be inquired after for
Locks Gift


Upon Reading the Humble petition of James Andrews< no role > Citizen &
weaver Setting forth That he served his Apprenticeship in this Hospitals
to Wm. Wilby< no role > Junr. one of the Artsmasters by Indenture dated 18 April 1769
and by Order of Court of 9th. June 1774 was made free of this City 28th. June 1769
was set up for himself in his Trade at No. 26 Great Trinity Lane had
received Mr. Fowkes Gift & praying Mr. Locks Gift It is Ordered
That Mr. Deputy Fouch Mr. Saml. Read< no role > & Mr. Joseph Rose< no role > or any two
of them be desired to Inquire if the said James Andrews< no role > be Set up for
himself in his Trade and of his hopefulness therein and Report the same to
the Court.

Collier John< no role > to be
inquired after for
Fowkes Gift


Upon Reading the Humble Petiton of John Collier< no role > Citizen &
Wiredrawer Settingforth That he served his apprenticeship in this
Hospital to Wm. Farr< no role > late one of the Arstmaste r by Indenture dated
10th December 1760 and by Order of Court of 20th July 1775 was made free
of this City the 22d. November 1775 was set up for himself in his Trade
at Mr. Chepseys Six Garden Court Pauls Alley Aldergate Street &
Praying Mr. Fowkes Gift It is Ordered That Mr. Deputy Fench
Mr. Samuel Read< no role > & Mr. Joseph Rose< no role > or any two of them be desired to
Inquire if the said John Collier< no role > be set up for himself in his Trade &
of his hopefullness therein and Report the same to the Court.
