Upon reading a Report from the Comee of this House bearing date the 14th.
October 1746 instant under the hands of Edward Holloway< no role > Esqr . Trear Dr . Richard
Rawlinson
< no role > Mr. Charles Cotton< no role > Mr. Samuel Bridgman< no role > Mr. Deputy Child & Mr.
Samuel John< no role > as follows Vizt. - At this Comee the proposals of James Goodwin< no role >
of Bride Lane Plumber were read setting forth - That he proposes to take the first
House South of the Little Gate of this Hospital for three Years contain to commence
from Christmast next and to pay the Yearly Rent of Nineteen pounds (the Gocerners
allowing the Land tax) quarterly at the Compling Hense of Bridewell Hospital
and to lay in the Water and make a Sink in the Kitchin which on to be Scheduled
- This Comee having considered the said proposalls are of Opinion to accept therein
upon which the said James Goodwin< no role > gave half a Guinea to the poors box - All
which is Nevertheless submitted to the Judgment of the Court - And it is Order
that this Opinion be reported to the Court - This Court having duly Weight
and considered the said Report Doth confirm the same.

At this Court the following poor Boys were Ordered to be put out Apprentices
at the nomination of the Governors hereafter Named Vizt.

At this Court the several Humble Petitions of Edward Cox< no role > and Josiah Kitteridge< no role >
were read setting forth - That they are willing to take such a Number of Apprentices
as the Court shall think fit and to keep their Appartment in repair with Glazing Pl [..]
and whilteing at their own expence as is usually done by the Artsmasters and to comply
with all Orders of the Court and Comee made and to be made in relation to Artsmaster
and praying to be Elected an Artsmaster in the Room of Mr. Thomas Machin< no role > deceased
- The Governors gave their Ballots which being cast up the Numbers appeared to be as are
follows Vizt.

Whereupon The Right Worshipfull Edward Holloway< no role > Esqr . Treasurer declared
the said Josiah Kitteridge< no role > duly Elected And it is Ordered that the said Josiah
Kitteridge
< no role > (upon delivering a Certificate of his Settlement to the Clerk and producing a Copy
of his Freedom of this City) be admitted and Artsmaster of this Hospital untill the next
Election Day upon giving Security as is usual in the like case and that the Journeyman
which he shall employ in his Trade shall be such as have served their Apprenticeship
in this Hospital - And it is further Ordered that he have such Apparture
as the Committee of this House shall think fit.
