Upon reading a Report from the Comittee of Bridewell Hospital bearing date
the 13th. of December last under the hands of Edward Holloway< no role > Esqr . Treasurer
Mr. William Hide< no role > , Dr. Richard Rawlinson< no role > , Mr Allen Webb< no role > and Mr Mark
Holman
< no role > in the word and figure following Vizt.In pursuance of an
Order of Court of the 30th. day of November last This Comittee have co [..]
into the behaviour of Nathaniel Whitamore< no role > Weaver one of the Artsmaster of
this Hospital with regard to the employing his apprentice in Husbandry and
do find that Thomas Stingley< no role > one of his Apprentices in May 1737. being in
an ill state of health was advised to go into the Country for the benefit of
the [..] Air, and that thereupon his said Master seat him to this Farm at
Holloway, where for about a fortnight during the Haymaking, the said
Apprentice carried Beer into the Field to the Haymakers: but did not other
work there, and that in May or June 1738. and 1739. the said Thomas
Stingley
< no role > went in like manner to the said Farm and did for about a
Fornight in each year carry Beer into the Field to the Haymakers but
did no other work there nor was he directed by his said Master to do any
And the Comittee do not find that any other of the said Whitamores
Apprentices have been employed otherwise that in their Weaving Trade
And it is Ordered that this be reported to the next CourtThis Court
having duly weighed and considered of the said Report doth confirm the same

houses in Wapping referred}


Upon reading the humble Petition of John Stevens< no role > Esqr . settingforthThat he
is possessed of Thirty three houses in Wapping which he is intitled to as
Assignee of Henry Whister< no role > Esqr for the residue of a term of 61 years granted by
the Governors of Bridewell Hospital to the said Henry Whistler< no role > by Lease
dated the 31st. of July 1703. at the yearly Rent of Twenty five pounds of which
term about twenty five years is yet to comeAnd praying to have a
further term granted him of thirty six years so that he may have a new
Lease for Sixty one year at the same rent it being necessary for the advantage
of the Estate to lay out a great Sum of money in repairs & improvements
thereof which he is willing to do at his own expence and also to pay the
Sum of Four hundred pounds as a Fine for such additional Term
It is Ordered that it be referred to the Comittee of this House to consider
of the said Petition and to report their Opinion therein to the Court.

Upon reading the humble Petition of Thomas Reddy< no role > of Ratcliffe Cross Supported
settingforthThat the Governors by Indre of Lease bearing date of
March 1716. demised to Martha Bayley< no role > of St Pauls Shadwell in the County
of Middx Widow two Messuages situate on the South side of Wapping street
in the parish of St. John Wapping then in the possession of the said Martha
Bayley or her Undertenants abulting East on a Wharfe in the possion of
Sr . Gregory Page< no role > West on a Tenement then or late in the possion of
Motley north on Wapping street and South on the River Thames containing
in front on the North side thereof next Wapping street from East to West
30 foot 4 Inches of Assize little more or less and from East to West on the
South side thereof 30 foot 6 Inches of Assize little more or less To hold
from Laday 1715. for the term of 31 years at £4. P ann RentThat
the said Martha Bayley< no role > has since assigned the premisses to the Petr. for the
remainder of the Term which will expire at Laday 1746and praying
the Governors to grant him an additional term of thirty one years to
commence from the Expiration of the Lease in being at the same Yearly
Rent of £4. and on payment of a FineIt is Ordered that it be
be referred to the Comittee of this House to consider of the said Petition and
to report their Opinion therein to the Court.
