Upon reading a Report from the Comee of Bridewell Hospital bearing date
the 21st. of May last under the hands of Edward Holloway< no role > Esqr . Trear Mr.
Deputy Ayliffe Auditor General, Dr . Richard Rawlinson< no role > , Mr. Robert Henshaw< no role > ,
Mr. Allen Webb< no role > and Mr. Mark Holman< no role > in the words & figures following Vizt.
Mr. Thomas Roddy< no role > of Ratcliffe Cross Sugarbaker attended this Comee
a second time and proposed to take a Lease of two Houses (No.11) on the South
side of Wapping street in the parish of St. John Wapping late in the
possession of Martha Bayley< no role > and since assigned to the said Mr. Roddy which
expires at Laday 1746. being part of the possessions of the said Hospital
for thirty one years from Laday last at the old Yearly Rent of £4.
payable Quarterly clear of all Parliamentary or other Taxes and to
pay a Fine of £130. and to accept at his Charge a Lease of the said
premisses with such Covenants as are usually contained in Leases from
the Governors to their Tenants and to execute a Counterpart of such
LeaseThe Comee are of Opinion to accept the said proposalls upon
the said Mr. Roddys surrendring up the Lease in being whereupon the
said Mr. Roddy gave a Guinea to the Poors boxAll which nevertheless
is submitted to the Judgment of the Court And it is Ordered this
Opinion be reported to the next CourtThis Court doth confirm
the said Report & Order that a Lease be made to the said Mr. Reddy
accordingly.

Fletcher< no role > & Mr. Thomas Pestell< no role > in the words and figures following Vizt.
Robert Cox< no role > Hempdresser offered himself to be admitted an
Artsmaster in this Hospital to keep the Prisoners to work in beating hemp
if the Governors will please to lend him One hundred and Fifty pounds
without Interest towards providing a Stock of Hemp to be repaid at such
time as the Governors think fit and for the repayment thereof his brother
in Law Edward Edwards< no role > senior Beadle of Christs Hospital will be
bound with himAnd he will keep such Apprentices as the Governors
shall place with him and comply with all the Orders of the Court that
have been or shall be made relaing to the Artmasters in the Hospital
and that he will quitt the Hospital when he shall be thereto required
by the President and Treasurer and any four of the Governors
This Comee are of Opinion to admit the said Richard Cox< no role > upon the
terms proposed if the Court shall think fittAll which nevertheless
is submitted to the Court And it is Ordered this be reported to the
next CourtThis Court having considered of the said Report
doth Order that the same be referred back to the Comee to reconsider the
same.
