Upon reading the humble Petition of Mathew Barrett< no role > Setting forth that
he Served his apprenticeship to William Bell< no role > weaver late one of the artsmar s of
this hospital and was made free of this City the 20th day of July Last
persuant to an Order of Court of the 22d day of March 1716 and is
sett up for himselfe in his said Trade at Mr Johnsons in Shoe
Lane and praying Some part of Mr Locks Gift to enable him to carry
on his Trade It is Ordered that Mr Depty. Turners Mr. Tho Nicolls &
Mr Roble three of the Governours of these hospitals or any two of them be
desired to enquire whether the sd Mathew Barrett< no role > he sett up in his sd Trade
& of his hopefullness therein & to make their Report to this Court

Upon reading the humble Petition of Edward Burton< no role > Setting forth that he served
part of his apprenticeship to Wm Atkins< no role > Tailer deced and was by Orders of the Come
turned over to John Young< no role > late one of the artsmar s of this hospital with whom
he served the remainder of his time and was made free of this City ye 6th day
of Septr Last psuant to an Order of Court of the 19th July Last and is Sett
up for himselfe in his sd Trade in Brewers Court in Bedford Bury and praying
Some part of Mr Locks Gift to enable him to carry on his Trade It is Ordered
that Marmaduke Alinghton< no role > Esqr John Martyn< no role > Esqr & Mr Thomas head< no role > there
of the Governor s of there hospitals or any two of them be desired to enquire without
the sd Edward Barton< no role > be Sett up in his said Trade & of his hopefullness there
& to make their Report to this Court

Upon reading the humble Petition of Thomas Harrison< no role > Setting forth that he
served his apprenticeship to Robert Bowes< no role > Shoe maker late one of the artsmar s
of this hospital & was made free of this City ye 2d day of Octor. Last P Suant to
an Order of Court of the 13th Septemr. Last and is Sett up for himselfe in his sd
Trade over agt. the Shears in Chequer alley in White Cross Street and
praying some part of Mr Locks Gift to enable him to carry all his sd Trade It
is Ordered that Mr. Felix Feast< no role > Mr. Depty Beckley Mr Johns Turner< no role > Mr. William Lee< no role > & Mr. Tho. Carpenter< no role > five
of the Governor s of these hospitals or any two of them be desired to enquire whether
the sd Thomas Harrison< no role > be sett up in his sd Trade of his hopefullness therein &
to make them Report to this Court

Several of the apprentices in this hospital who refuse to be bound age
persuance of ye order of the Court of Aldermen were Sent for unto Court and told they Should
give the in possitive answer to ye Comee next Tuesday

Comitted to the Hemp blocks till ye further Order of this Court for behaveing
himselfe rudely in the Court
