Governors Elected


Upon Reading a Report from the Comee of this house dated the
27th day of this instant March Setting forth That in pursuance of an order of
Court of the 14th. day of February Last This Comee haveing considered
of the Several Gentlemen following who were nominated to be Govrs
of these hospitals It is the Opinion of this Comee that they
are very proper persons to be Governor s if the Court Shall think
fitt Vizt

James Shepheard< no role > Esqr Middle Temple P Jno Martyn< no role > Esqr
Mr Jno Brown< no role > Bow Street Co: Garden P Jno Roydhouse< no role > Esqr .

This Court doth Elect the said Gentlemen to be Governours of
these hospitals and it is Ordered that Staves be sent to them
accordingly

Ordered that Staves be forthwith Sent to the sd new Governours by Smith
person as Mrs. Acton the widdow of the late Steward deced Shall
opposit to go with two of the Beadles except oliver her son who
Stands Candidate for the place of Steward of this hospital in the
room of his father

Upon reading the humble Petition of Thomas Ward< no role > . setting forth that
he served his apprentceship to William Phillips< no role > Weaver late one of the artsmar s
of the sd hospital and was made free of his City ye 30th day of July Last
persuant to an Order of Court of the 22d day of March 1716/7 and
Sett up for himselfe in his said Trade at his Mothers ye Sign of the
Guy of Warwick in Bridewell Precinct and praying some part
of Mr. Locks Gift to enable him to carry on his Trade His
Ordered that Mr Depty. Turner Mr. Tho Niccolls< no role > & Mr Roble three
of the Governours of these hospitals or any two of them be desired to
enquire whether the said Thomas Ward< no role > be Sett up [..] said Trade
and of his hopefullness therein and to make their Report to this Court
