2d. Decemr. 1715

of Sticks out of a Six pence which had been given him the Said
night which was to be used by ye Said Rhodes and the rest
of the said Blew Coat Boys of that Hospital against a great
Mobb which was comeing to fight them from Ludgate Hill ,
and that the Said John Rhodes< no role > Returned Home about ten
of the Clock that night and Further this Informant Sayth not

Saveral persons who brought Browns Information
to the Court (had been attending at the Lord Mayors while
the Same was taken) desireing to be heard they were called into
Court and gave the following account

Mr. Richard Badcock< no role > Mercer upon Ludgate
hill said that on the 20th & 31th days of Octor. Last in the Evening
there were Candles Sett up in his Balcony and a Great Mobb came by
and made his Servants take them in but he was not then at home &
therefore could not Say there were any Apprentices of this hospll
among em

All Said that on the 20th. of Octor. Last in the Evening there
were Severall Gentlemen in the Balcony Room of the
Crown Tavern on Ludgate Hill who ordered a Bonfire to be
made in the Street and a Barrell of Strong Beer to be given
to the people about it and about Nine or Ten o Clock when ye
fire was almost burnt out there came a Great Mobb up Ludgate
hill huzzaing & crying High Church & Ormond and kickt and
threw the Brands about the Street & into the Tavern and that-
there were abot. 30. or 40 Blew Coates amongst em
