Thomas Hall< no role > Esqr . now liveing in Coleman Street
London Sent to this Court the Since of Five hundred pounds
for the use of Bridewell Hospital and the like Sume of Five
hundred pounds for the use of Bethlem Hospital to be
employed in the most Charitable manner for the Releife of
the Poorest and most necessitous objects which Sumes were
paid into the hands of John Tayler< no role > Esqr . Treasurer of these
hospitals by hopton Haynes< no role > Esqr . Order'd That Mr. Trear
Tayler sr Samuel Clarke< no role > Mr Depty Stamper Thomas Rawlinson< no role >
Esqr & Mr Christopher Bateman< no role > be desired to wait on Mr Hall &
returne him the thanks of this Court for his bind & Generous
Benefaction to these hospitals and to desire his acceptance of
a Staffe as one of the Governours of these hospitals he
being unanimously Chosen by all ye Governours prsent

Trustees to be allowd.


16.15for Taxes}
An Annuity of five pounds formerly given
to this hospital by Edmond Arnold< no role > Esqr haveing been Severall
years in arrear and the Clerk haveing attended ye Trustees to
Settle the Same they produced Receipts of the former Clerks
whereby it appeared there had been Severall Sumes deducted
for Taxes Since the year 1693. amounting in all to six pounds
fifteen Shillings besides Ten Shillings and Ten pence for
other Charges which the present Clerke refused to allow for yt.
all Rents & Annuitys which belonged to the Hospital in the year
1693. are Exempt from TaxesWhereupon ye Trustees
attended this Court and in regard they had actually paid the Said
Taxes being ignorant of ye Exemption and the Residue of ye
Donors Estate being all applicable to Charitable uses And ye sd.
deductions haveing been made Severall years ago Therefore
they prayed the Same might be allowed And the Question being
putt whether both or either of those Sumes Shall be allowed It
is Ordered That the said Sume of Six pounds Fifteen Shillings
be only allowed
