Upon reading a Report from the Comee of Bethlem hospital
under the hands of John Tayler< no role > Esqr . Treasurer Mr. Depty. Robert
Stamper
< no role > Thomas Rawlinson< no role > Esqr . John Martyn< no role > Esqr . and Mr. Francis

< no role > dated the 10th day of this instant May as followeth vizt
This Comee in pursuance of an Order of Court of the 25th. day of June
last past have viewed the Stove Rooms in the hospital of Bethlem
which we find too Little & wee are of Opinion that two more Convenient
Rooms each 30 foot by 22. or thereabouts may be made the one at the
East the other at the West end of the said hospital and we have
discoursed the workmen thereon and according to their estimates we
find the Charge thereof will be as followeth vizt

At this Court the Representation and Severall Petitions following being
read Vizt

Enquire weavers Representation


A Representation Subscribed by Severall Master Engine Weavers
Setting forth That there are at Least 20. Masters and 130 Journey
men within the Citty and Suburbs of London and that many of the Journey
men for want of Employment are become objects of Charity That to prevent
the growth of which Calamity for the future the Weavers Company
have orderd that no Mar Shall keep above three apprentices at a
time which is a Standing rule So that 20. Masters will in 7 years being
up but 60 persons whereas the three Masters in this hospital will being
up 30 which is a great inequality and go persons being brought up
every 7 years will Clog and rame the Trade and many of their familys
will become Chargeable to their parishes That those bred up in the
Engine are not Capable of workeing in any other Branch of the weaveing
Trade whereas other Weavers are capable of learning to work in the Engine
