Disturbance at St.
Brides Church


The Right Worspll the President Informing this
Court That the Court of Aldermen had appointed on
Thursday next to hear the matter of the Disturbance at
St. Brides Church on Easter Munday and Tuesday last
upon the Complt. of the Trear of Christs Hosptl. This
Court doth nominate Mr. Trear Mr. Deputy
Langham Mr. Deputy Gardiner Mr. Fazacherly Mr.
Deputy Deck Mr. Wilkinson Mr. Deputy Brerewood &
Mr. Samuel Baker< no role > to be or Comittee for the a
managmt. of the same on behalfe of this Hosptl.

Also upon reading the Certificate of Mr. James Smith< no role >
& Mr. Ashton (two of the Governrs . of this Hospll:) That upon Inquiry
they do [..] find That Wm. Webb< no role > (who was brought up
Appntice with Wm. Atkins< no role > Taylor (one of the Artsmars .
of this Hosptl.) and Since made a Freeman of this Citty
by the approbacon of this Court) is sett up for himselfe
in Shoemaker Row in Blackfryers where they found
him at worke wth. a Journey man And yt. he hath a
good Report in the Neighbourhood for a Sober Industrious
Pson & conceived wth him to deserve the incouragemt. of
part of Mr. Locks Gift It is Ordered by this Court
That Mr. Trer Baker doe give and pay unto him Tenne
pounds out of the profitts of Mr. Locks Gift the better
to enable him to manage his sd. Trade to be allowed
Mr. Trer in his next Account.

Inquiry they doe find That Richard Rutt< no role > (who was bought
up Apprnce . wth. Rich: Swiby< no role > Glover (one of the Artsmars . of this
Hospll.) and Since made a Freeman of this Citty by the
Approbacon of this Court) is sett up for himselfe in his said
Trade and that he hath a good Report & a Chamber Pretty
well furnished & a Stock of Kidds Skins and Gloves by him &
is in an hopefull way, & Judge he may be a fitt object of
Mr. Locks Gift It is Ordered by this Court That Mr.
Trer Baker doe give & pay unto him Tenne pounds out
of the profitts of Mr. Locks. Gift to be allowed Mr. Trer in
his next Account.
