The Examination of Mary< no role > the Wife of Geo: Farmer< no role > taken
the 7th. Day of Octr. 1740 Who upon her Oath saith that on the
16th. Day of January 1733 she Intermaryed with her first
Husband Jno. Church< no role > Deceased & by him hath one Child
living (to wit) Jas< no role > . aged about four years & further saith that
her said late Husband Jno. Church about fourteen Years since
rented a House in Surry Street in the Parish of St. Clemt.
Danes in the County of Middx of the Yearly Rent of Twelve
Pounds & lived in the Same for four Years or thereabouts and
never after Rented any House of Ten pounds a Year paid to
the Poor of any Parish or otherwise gained a Settlement in
any other Place as this Examinant has been Informed
& verily beleives that this Examinant & her present Husband
Geo: Farmer are poor & not able to maintain the said Child
