Mr Treasurer Accompt ending at Lady Day 1717.

Severall of the Governors present at this Court made Liberall Subscipcons
towards the Support of this Hospitall And now particularly on Accot. of the neccessary Charge
in Altering and raising the Roofes of the Wards in the Two Lower Courts.

< no role > and Henry Shute< no role > Clerks were presented to this Court & Read Severally Praying to be
Elected by this Court to Succeed the Rever end Mr. Mathew Mead< no role > Deced as Minister or
Chaptain of the Parish Church of St. Thomas's in Southwarke which is Vested by Royall
Grant in the Governors of the said Hospitall in the Nature of affree Chappell Whereupon
It was Resolved That the sd. Candidates should be reduced to Two by the Holding up of
Hands And then the Eleccon of One of them Determined by Balletting Which Melted
being accordingly Observed the Reduction fell upon Mr. Casberd and Mr Shute And
Mr Casberd was afterwards duely Elected and Chosen to the said Office or Place of
Minister or Chaptain of the said Church To hold the same with the Pension or Signed
usually paid by this Hospitall And all Fees and Perguisites thereunto belonging
during the Pleasure and good liking of this Court.
