After Reading whereof Richard Salwey< no role > was called
in and Proposed to pay to the Governours for seventy
Oak Trees in the said Woods (marked by the said
John Goldsmith< no role > as proper to be felled) after the rate of
Twenty Shillings P Tree One with another.

John Waldren< no role > Proposed 102. Guineas for the said
Seventy Trees as the same now Stand.

Sale of Timber in
Orpington Woods


Henry Staples< no role > of Bromly in the County of Kent
Carpenter Proposed to give £100. for the said
Seventy Trees with the Lopp and Tops and
afterwards offered One hundred and Ten Pounds
for them as they now Stand and to take them
away in Three Months and to pay Halfe the
mony in a Month and the Remainder before
he takes more than halfe of the Trees away
and be at all Charges of Felling & Carryage
To which Proposal of the said Henry Staples< no role >
this Comittee Agreed

John Goldsmith< no role > chosen

He gave £1. 1s. to the Poors Box

This Comittee having receiv'd a good Charactar
of the said John Goldsmith< no role > He is by then
appointed Woodreeve of Orpington Woods
from Lady Day Last during the Pleasure of this
Comittee under such Sallary as they shall
think fit.

Referred to Mr. Treasurer Mr. Kenrick
Mr Mayo Mr Burnell & Mr. Gee or any two of them to go down
to Orpington to view the said Woods at such
time as Mr. Trear shall Appoint.

Minutes of last Grant Committee read & Confirmed

Mr. Porter acquainting the Committee That he had
by Mr. Trears Direction Viewed Six Tenements in
St. Thomas's Parish lately held by Mr. Walker Plumber
on Dowgate Hill under a Lease Granted to Macklyn
Green
< no role > which expired at Lady Day last and found the
same to be very much out of repaire and some part
thereof falling It is Ordered That the Clerk do
forthwith write to the said Mr. Walker to put the said
Tenements into such repaire and to leave them as
the same ought to be left by the Covenants of the
said Lease and that in Case of refusal The Clerk do
