St. Thomas, Hospital May 26, 1802
I am now to acknowledge the Receipt of the Colliery Accounts up
to the 1 Inst. & also of your Letter of the 26th. inclosing a Bell on yeats
Brown & Co. for £79.3.9 (due the 23 June) which at maturity
well be placed to your Credit for the Balance of the Colliery Account
(outstanding Debts excepted) to lady day lastI had placed that £1.10.6
[..] for leading wood with March Account, but observey that
you have put it in the April Accot. & not deducted it in the balance
now remitted, I have altered the Accot. to make it correspond well your
& make the balance due to the Hospital the 1st May £59.9.10 which
I preserve you will find right.
A Letter form the Treasurer crossed your on the road to which I
dure say you will speedily reply. Referring you to him for
whatever may require noticing in your last Letter, & thankg you for
your Enquirees after my Health which is somerset better

I should have immediately acknowledged the Receipt of your
Letter of the 20 Inst. covering a Remittance of £79..3..9 Draft on
yeats & Co. (which when paid well of Combe carried to your Credit) had
I not write your Answer to mere of the 21st. which has been this day
received. John Foster< no role > s rent I hope will be remitted at the Term he
promised as the great Expenditure of the Hospital makes the
punctual payment of the Rents and expensible. I hope you have
left Order that are Case an Inclosure at Withering such should
take place that we have immediate information of their intent was
when of Coun I will endeavour to guard the Interest of the
Hospital & with your Apurance secure the Road to the Scanhaws.

I am much enclosed to pay overseers Attention to your last afterer
for the Colliery but think the Lease ought not to before longer Term
then 21 years, or with an option on the part of the Hospital in case
it should be longer. Should you agree with one in opinion I will
open the business to a Committee we shall have on the 9th. Janry, [..]
determine to pay you a vesit previous to a final Arrangement.

The Treasurer has put into my Hands your Letter of
the 8th. inclosing two belts Value together £281.15which when
in Cart will be place to the Credit of your Account. I have
examined given Statment of the Beweek Michaelmas rents, &
